When I was younger I always thought “of course someone will fall in love with me one day, that’s just how life happens so why should I worry?” I smile now, knowing that my life is not a wonderful plan laid out before me, but damn luck. I want to find love, I need to find love… but, what happens if I don’t? I’m terrified that my life isn’t set in stone as without a path I’m simply… lost. But if their is some magic out there, the daintiest slither of golden thread which may weave its way across my story line, I hope it illuminates the gated path I stride along. And maybe. we're holding hands as we lay on the ground in the castle garden, the smell of freshly cut grass and earth is filling the air entering our lungs. we're alone in this place, all the inhabitants fled for fear of dying. But the only fear I have is not having enough time with this blessing of a man. I never understood the meaning of a soulmate until I met him, and everything in my being became him. For him. Because of him.
I squeeze his hand and he opens his eyes and looks at me. the look we exchange tells everything we can't find words for.
the stars above us are starting to dim, they're dying. and we are next.
we open ours mouths to say something but there are too many things to say and not nearly enough time.
I finally settle for " I'm not afraid to go, if your touch is the last thing I feel, if the last face I see is yours, and my love for you the last emotion that fills my heart, I have lived."
tears stream down my cheek as he brings his palm to wipe them away. he presses his forehead to mine and sighs and I know he feels the same.
"wherever we go, I will look for you and I will find you, however long it takes" he says a second before our lips collide.
