This song has become a bit of an anthem for me after bad days at work because I work at a treatment center for teens with mental illness, addiction, behavioral issues, etc. I love the work I do, but it can be exhausting and emotionally taxing to see people in such bad mental places and have to be a constant positive force in their lives. I spend most days trying to put out metaphorical fires and convince kids that life is worth living. That can be particularly difficult when I also struggle with mental illness. "I'm too broken to fix you too," is actually a wonderful reminder that we cannot fix other people. We can help them in so many ways, but we are only in control of our own actions, feelings, and our own recovery. Thank you for the beautiful song! Tomorrow, I will go back to letting them lean on me :)
