I can't get enough of this song. It is so MEANINGFUL. The lyrics are beautifully laid out. The first section makes me feel peaceful like everything will be ok because death is the fate of us all and eventually all things come to an end. The second part is like it's telling me how working 10 hours every day is sapping away my liveliness and it causes me stress because I want to spend more time with my family, but it's a burden I must bear in order to support the ones I love. The third part is me realizing that I'm growing old and the stars and moon falling are my youthful joy and wonder and playfulness falling away, but I'm with my wife and she's with me like a promise we made to always be there for each other that we intend to keep to the bittersweet end. The fourth part, thinking I'd never see doomsday, feels like how I could laugh when people say doomsday is coming or the end is near, but then I realize that my own personal doomsday is coming and that's not what I imagined when I used to think about doomsday and it makes me sad because I want to stay with my wife and live more of those happy days with her. The fifth part, the black rain and flaming clouds piercing our wounds and hearts broken in two is the suffering felt when actively dying and being grief stricken in losing a loved one. Finally, the last tears are shed and the world ends. It's all over. My wife is by herself which is likely because she's a good bit younger than me. It's and end that I want to reach with my wife because it means that we must have lived wonderful lives together in order to reach that point. Seems like a great wedding song.
