It's important to know Khaenri'ah had a lot of ruin guards or field tillers as they called them.
The field tillers were quite war like. Made to "till the field with blood and steel".
It sounded like they were warlike or preparing for war. They mass produced so many field tillers that even after 500 years those things still walk the Teyvat.
The question is, did they made that many to attack Celestia or to prepare against Celestia?

Venti and Zhongli are both Archon and there are 5 other Archons. If we look at their personality through out the game play, they are have good personality as they can be. And there are people who would worship them, why would they put effort to destroy one nation that they don't worship the god? This is something I am not very sure when we look at Venti's expression from the comic, was Celestia is above the Seven that they don't dare to intervein during the genocide? Which tide back the animation of "We Will Be Reunited" of Lumine witness the destruction of the nation, possibly khaenri'ah has the same scene of the unknow god when the sibling got separate. Which we can confirm that it was the work of the unknow god not by the Seven. Now that I think about it, the Fatui taking Venti and Zhongli's gnosis, which is also the energy from Celestia. So the abyss and the Fatui are planning to rebel Celestia?

Hey guys, I have a theory. After Archon Quest was released, more theories emerged. So here I will discuss about this Archon Quest. Just look at DAINSLEIF's robe, it looks familiar, doesn't it? Yes, the robe was similar to the one Paimon was wearing. When we first met him, he asked "who is there beside you?" here I think Dainsleif knows what and who Paimon is, it's just that he's asking like that to make sure. For the reason why the unknow god destroy khaenri'ah. As you mentioned that they were a proud civilization that they can build a nation without a god, seem similar to the Greek Stories, of the mortal who challenge the Gods, they seem all ended up being punished, even when a mortal who won the God's challenge. I think it play the same principle here. Khaenri'ah challenged the God to build a nation without a God, they won their challenge and ended up being punished for it. It is just my own theory, I don't really understand much about Greek Stories but I do know a bit of it.

i saw a comment, too that explains why kbaenriah was destroyed, it was the celestia, when the monsters are attacking khaenriah , khaenriah didnt ask a help from gods, so.. the unknown god just Obliterated the nation to teach them a lesson

It was said that the people of Khaenri'ah were really good alchemist to the extent of creating life (for example Albedo's who is theoriesed to be an homunculus) . Maybe that's why the Archeons' feared them or thought of them as a threat since they could become as powerful as god. But we still don't know much yet and which deities participated.
In my opinion venti was one of the deities who didn't participate or at least was not willing to participate forceless. And we remember when venti told the mc that he had a fall out 500 years ago with snezhnaya's deity. But why?
We don't know much about the deity, the only thing we know is that she works with the Fatui. So we have to wait until every Archeons is revealed. BUT we can spaculate that it was probably because of the war with Khaenri'ah

Now that I realized it in the comics it showed how celestia would look like and in the game too but it only showed once. The celestias both live around the area of when we log into the game before we enter the door just like where AETHER and lumine were…. So is it possible that THEY COULD BE CELESTIALSSS IT COULD BE AFTER ALL THEY DID SHOW TWO PPL AND THEY CAN ACTIVATE AND CONTACT THE SEVEN ARCHONS AND THEIR TELEPORT STATUESS

I have a theory that the mortals challenge the god to built a nation on their own which happens to be kheanr’iah and mind you and the time the god retains 2 more mortals that happen to be aether and lumine, she wanted lumine to finish her Journey (keep this in mind) but it didn’t go as planned and also lumine help the mortals created the nation which the unknown god didn’t like which is why she pretended to make monsters attack khaenr’iah so she can destroy it along with the other 5 original gods who happens to be cryo pyro hydro denro and electro arcons which was not the destiny of the nations and I also heard venti and zhongli helped but got away and lumine witnessed the destruction and blamed her self, also remember when I said something about destiny? Well I think the unknown god is the god of destiny but the dark kind. But when the 5 replacement gods came the new cryo Archon lied about where she was from, she was originally from khaenr’iah and wanted to take all gnosis to kill the destiny god.

the archons must be knowing how scary celestia is too.. thats why venti goes silent whenever celestia is mentioned, maybe tsaritsa takes away all the gnoises and all the archons give up their roles and with a proper plan rebel against the celestia/sustainer of heavenly principles? just a thought not sure though but this would mean abyss/fatui/khaenriah/archons everyone against the celestia
