This is the fourth time in two years we’ve shot performances with beabadoobee. Safe to say we’re big fans. Obviously, naming the Philippines-born, London-bred purveyor of 90s-aura jangle rock a 2021 DSCVR Artist To Watch was a major stamp of approval. And she’s def delivered — most notably with the recent ‘Our Extended Play’ EP. With The 1975’s Matty Healy and George Daniel contributing as producers and co-writers, the project gleans fun pop moments from the fuzzy alt-guitar genres Bea’s channeled since day 1. Pitchfork went so far as to call it a “period piece.” ‘Our Extended Play’ also gives her an excuse to tour. Lucky for all, Bea and the band are rocking around the world this fall and winter. As they do here. These performances of “Last Day On Earth” and “Cologne” are so good they’ll blow your bucket hat right off your head.
