A lady here in Chattanooga uses plarn to crochet mats for the homeless. The mats are waterproof and easy to clean. They help keep someone from sleeping on the bare ground. So many idea for this.

I love recyclable crafts like this! I never thought of a plastic bag, but I have done this with old cotton t-shirts.

I have always wanted to know how to make yarn out of plastic bags for crocheting! My Great Grandmother used to use plastic bags, and I was super intrigued to know how she did it! So I thank you for making a tutorial! ☺️

You are so inspirational and showed that I should not be scared to be myself I have been bullied for my unique sense of style and hobbies but you have helped me realise that what they think doesn't matter as long as you are happy and striving to be the best version of you ❤ Thank you for getting me out of that dark time in my life and helping me find my true friends

Plarn, being used from plastic, makes an amazing insulator. I want to make a corset out of plarn so that when winter comes in my state, I have it to wear under jackets and stuff. I also want to make leg warmers out of it, but it would be a bit heavier, and probably fashioned like assless chaps, just to keep from falling down the legs.

I used to work as an Editorial Writer for a newspaper that caters to the homeless. (The newspaper is still operational, I moved.) The homeless are hired as employees and on our weekly Thursday meeting they would get so many free papers to sell. The cost of the paper when they sell it is a dollar so it's pure profit for them. They can take some of that money and buy more papers at an extreme discount and then keep selling. I remember one year a church group used plarn and made several bedrolls for them out of it. That was the first time I ever heard of anybody using plastic bags as yarn before. It was really nifty to see. I miss writing for the paper sometimes. But I now live like 5 hours away from there. So it would be a long commute.

I made my hat out of plastic bags, I used 28 pcs of plastic bags from Walmart and 9 hours of labors. But it’s sooo worth it. I’m currently working on with my next plastic bags creation. It’s sooo cool and it saves you some money and helps the earth 🥰.

I’ve used old T-Shirts to make braided dog toys. I can’t wait to try this. Maybe I’ll crochet a bag out of bags?!

My mom will tear old fabric and bedsheets from the thrift store, tear it into strips, and crochet them into lovely rugs.
