Keep in minds the reason refugees are in hotels is because of the total incompetence of this government being so slow to go through asylum claims and the small boats only exist because this government got rid of all safe routes except from Ukraine and Afghanistan. Therefore without a processing centre in France there is only one way to claim asylum in the UK and that is by entering the nation.

I'm ethnically Jewish and my grandfather was born in Poland. He managed to escape as a child, but most of his family was murdered in the holocaust.
Hearing this horrible woman's response to an actual survivor telling her she's using the same terminology and rhetoric as the literal OG N*zis and seeing that she gives literally zero fucks about it is chilling.
Growing up in Israel, you're exposed to a lot of information about what happened in Germany in the '30s (some would say, too much information...), and in my opinion the survivor was way too gentle towards Braverman, as she and the people who share her "political views" sound to me exactly like the N*zis, and are doing very similar things.
Unfortunately this problem is very much not unique to the UK, and there are very similar fascist movements in Israel, as well as many other places. I really hope the results will be different from what happened last time, but to be honest I'm not super optimistic.

As a potential refugee (I'm Ukrainian and I don't want to leave my country no matter how hard life here will be, but it's not a 0 chance, that I would have to), I swear on anything you want, that I will choose UK to seek asylum in only in 2 cases: if there will be no other choice, or if only other option will be USA.
I watch too much youtubers from UK and USA, lol.

Just to point out you cannot claim benefits when you enter the UK you have to be here for at least 3 months and that jobseekers allowance meaning you have to go to the job centre and be looking for a job, it also lasts 6 months at the most. And the amount of money an asylum seeker gets in the UK is lower than most countries in Western Europe.

Lol I'm from Italy and we've also had (still have, to be fair, but before covid it was much worse) this "illegal immigrants live rent free in 5 stars hotels while earthquake refugees/old people/true but forgotten italians are abandoned" phase. It was paired with another bullshit, the "the gov gives immigrants €25 a day". What really happened it was that empty hotels (mostly during off seasons) were paid for holding refugees in wait while the bureaucratic matters were dispatched. This was also due the state's organization's lackings on taking care of the migration fenomenon.
There is small we can do but hate and feel ashamed of our "people". That's what I ended up doing. You can give any speech you want about that fenomenon as a whole, you can point at their inconsistencies (such as the fact these refugees are actually legally stucked, for they can't work until they are fine with the immigration papers, and that if you leave on the street someone who can't work you're asking micro-crime to rise, promoting slavery or else helping mafia with new desperate people to recruit) as much as you want, racism and xenophobia will take over.
Also, let's notice how they fake caring of women's issues just to hate on people they eventually see as even less human than the ones nobody really cares they get killed/paid less/constantly dehumanized just for being female

id like to say that merseyside isnt a right wing place by any means, an image of ignorance has been placed on it by many classiest people despite the fact that community and the socialist thought behind it is incredibly strong. its very much a county of the white working class and it can be little rough to discuss identity politics with some locals but tory voters and people who are insincere in their ignorance are few and far between and love to call it and liverpool especially a "lefty hell hole". i cant find an exact number for the counter protest that was held by our local socialist groups with jeremy corbyn recently but it looked to be many more than the 450 estimated to have been at the rally in knowsley. im a trans woman who came from kent to new brighton myself and my friends here are minorities of all stripes from all over england and wales and merseyside is without question the place we feel the safest and most seen in this country

They talk about homeless freezing but as soon as the daily mail has moved on from migrant boats to some other culture war issue. They will not care about the homeless at all they use them as pawns which is genuinely disgusting.
