fun fact, my grandfather used to own a construction company, and jim jones hired him and his father (my great grandfather) to build the temple in redwood valley CA, my grandfather said they day he went to collect the money for the build, jim jones tried to convince him to join, and my grandfather said that he got horrible vibes from him and that he was just overall creepy as hell.

Ive heard the whole tape. He says how the children arnt suffering its just because its bitter. They were screaming because of the pain not bitterness and its heartbreaking. Many adults were injected when they refused to drink. Some had needles stuck in their backs so done without their consent

One thing you forgot to include in this video is Jim Jones had his followers conduct regular "Mass Suicide" drills on a regular basis while in Jonestown. So when the time came to actually commit suicide it was not something new, they had practiced it many times before.

Just to keep things productive (and maybe shine a little ray of light on this horrible story), there were about EIGHTY people who survived the Jonestown massacre, one way or the other. While some 36 of them have died in the years since, the many other survivors have been trying to get the mass media to tell their stories all this time.
Alas, the media only seems to want to talk about Jim Jones, himself, effectively giving that naricssist free publicity even after his death. But since your coverage here already seems to be moving a bit away from that direction (thank you), talking to these people might be a good follow-up to this video, somewhere down the line.

A good video with the bridge notes but you missed 2 big ole red flags from his childhood, namely that he once killed a dog in order to resurrect it and climbed onto the roof of a barn to prove he could fly. Surprisingly, neither of these things worked out for him.

This was a brutal massacre. Jim Jones knew that people were unhappy, and he knew that they would have eventually left or turned on him. He betrayed them and their trust, and destroyed entire families.

My dad was on the military group that had to go clean up after the massacre. He said it was unreal, and he still thinks about it to this day.
