Then you missed the point entirely. This song is definitely NOT about masturbation. She's acknowledging that her expectations of men in her previous relationships have been unrealistic. She wanted someone who behaved perfectly, predictably, and on demand. She understands this is impossible and she's afraid she may never find the perfect guy because she has not been able to accept a mate who is imperfect and has a will of his own. This saddens and frustrates her. Very insightful song.

This video, not to mention the song itself, is brilliant. Boy does it ever speak to so many female desires and despairs. The contrast between the bitter dreamer (as coin-operated as her imaginary lover) and the beautiful girl who speaks directly to the unrequited love is painfully poignant. Songs all about her past failed relationships and her kind of giving up on finding the perfect man. It's multilayered though, and it's understandable why so many think it's just about masturbation. On a much more shallow level it is. On a side note, damn does Amanda have an amazing voice. I absolutely love the way she sings the end of this song, just beautiful.

This Song is just so inspiring when you look into the details, it makes everyday life seem so simplistic and happy, and i know its sort of trolling but i really wish other artists could step up to the example that the Dresden dolls keep outputting at a high rate, most of there music has class and an upholding beat to capture the lisoners attention. I'd love to go to one of there concerts one day just to hear this one song because i think it'd be worth over $1,000 to see such wonders come to life

I met Amanda a couple years ago, she was passing through my town in Washington (state) and stopped by Starbucks (where I worked). She is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. She gave me an amazing hug and took a page out of her journal and wrote me a little note with an autograph. She blows my mind, AMAZING. and even more beautiful in person.
