The top US court heard arguments on Thursday from former President Donald Trump's legal team that he should be given immunity from criminal prosecution for any actions taken during his time in office.

The fact that this is happening is not signaling the end of democracy; if he is found to have immunity, that would be the end of the democracy, but if he is found to not have immunity, that is freedom and justice in action.
