A few years ago, hot Cheetos were finally available in Canada. I immediately noticed that they did not taste exactly like their American counterpart. They're also not addictive the way the American ones were. I recently visited Texas and brought some back with me. In the last few weeks, I've already had two party-size bags LOL. Without a doubt, some shit is being added to the American ones, that is not allowed/available in Canada and it is addictive!

THAT’S INSANE! I’m Ukrainian and we don’t have this crunchy type of cheetos here as Americans do,so one day i ended up ordering cheese (not hot!) one on ebay or sum. And you know what? It was so good that next HALF OF A YEAR i was hysterically trying to find something with same taste AND texture but such shít just doesn’t exist!!! There’s stuff with similar flavour but the texture is completely different or same texture but it’s mostly something sweet!!!!! Actually i never had such obsession of snack in my entire life so it feels sus to me and i was just scared of having an addiction so i never bought second pack lol

I’m Mexican, and I can say without a doubt that next to sodas, these types of chips are a major problem in the Hispanic community. A community that celebrates with food for almost any occasion. Every time I go to a family gathering, there’s always enormous bags of takis and flaming hot Cheetos on the tables. And I always see kids with more chips on their plates than actual food.
Hispanics have the second highest obesity percentage with women being most at risk.
It’s no surprise really, because major food companies market the most ads to Blacks and Hispanics more than any other race.
I know it’s a sensitive topic, but I would really like to see your take on the role unhealthily food has among different races.
Is the food industry purposely targeting minorities because They spend the most money on their products or is it because they care less about the harm their products do to minorities?

I was literally addicted to eating the EXTRA Flaming Hot Cheetos all the time. Would literally buy the same black pack of Cheetos almost everyday and I literally felt almost euphoric eating it. I was able to let go of bad habits like nicotine, alcohol, sweets and even adderall easily within weeks but the sensation from those cheetos, nothing could compare. The fact that they are so accessible and are socially acceptable as a comfort food made it hard for me to stop. I recently moved to NYC where I CAN'T find that specific flavor anywhere so as a result, I let go of that habit as of 8 months now. I still do think about it though lol.

I love how the dust it leaves on your hands is always a marketing tactic, but as someone with sensory issues, I've always HATED foods that were messy, despite loving to get dirty. Like...when I'm eating, I don't want to feel like I need to wash my hands or face. It's also why I'm not big on popcorn and other snacks that leave your fingers gross. Don't even get me started on foods that stick on your teeth.
