p-Aminophenol, the final intermediate to Paracetamol, is actually used in the film development process as the film developer branded as Rodinal. In the Philippines, they even have "Parodinal" which is basically derived from this method.
Source: I am a Filipino and use this developer in my film developing. Also, I personally know the guy who makes and the store that sells this product.

Wow that's actually really interesting. How did they end up determining that the two pro-drugs were just that? Ie, how did they determine that the metabolite acetaminophen was present, and that that's what was causing the beneficial effects?
