I grew up in a ghetto full of drugs, violence and gangs. Music was the only thing that kept me sane back in the 1980’s and throughout my life. The Cure was and has been the soundtrack of my life. Thank you Robert Smith your music saved myself and my friend Luna from the shithole we lived to prosper in life

This song brings back so many memories for me. Time passes and people come and go throughout our lives. All the memories you have are all they are...mental pictures of memories. Everytime I hear this song I think of that one person that has filled my heart with all those mental pictures. We were 14 when we met in the summer of ‘84 and dated all through high school and spent all our time together. Then after high school we drifted apart. We went to college, married other people and had kids. I would see him through the years in passing. Even though our paths have led us in different directions, we have remained good friends. My favorite line in the song: “If only I’d known of the right words I could’ve held onto your heart”. He will never know the impression he has left on my heart and how much he means to me still to this day.

I lost my wife suddenly in July and heard this song for the first time a couple of days later. It seems so poignant and meaningful as that is all we did and still do as a family now.
We have our memories and pictures. It's a beautiful song and 1 I find myself playing all the time now if I'm feeling a bit down. I might even sing it on karaoke soon when I'm feeling a bit stronger 💔
