My mom introduced me to this beautiful woman. She said her music helped her when she was my age going through life. And now it's helping me. Thank you Melanie for everything.

Rest In Peace, Melanie. Gone from this world on January 23, 2024. Such a pure soul. And wow...watch until the end... Ed Sullivan loved her so much!

I remember an old John Lennon quote: "If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the ’60s, that’s his problem. Love and peace are eternal." Nobody embodies that more than Melanie. She still, after all these years, brings tears to my eyes and yearning for a gentler time full of unconditional love and "beautiful people" who "sang the songs of peace." Thank you, Melanie.

I saw Melanie in the summer of1970 when she sang In The Summertime to open the fabulous Strawberry Fields Festival in Ontario, Canada. It was a glorious sunny afternoon and she made it one of the most glorious moments of my life. May her spirit live on.

To Melanie Safka, peace has come, according to plan. Truly an extraordinary unicorn in the best sense of the word. I will miss her very much, and it makes me sad to think I will never get to hear her adorable rendition of Christopher Robin Is Saying His Prayers except in flashbacks. 😒

This is the Melanie I grew up with (through my family) as a child. It pains my heart so that she is gone. Thank you for making music that brings joy to my heart no matter where I'm at in life. The world feels a littler shittier with you gone. But what you stood for, anyone can feel and do. But boy could you express it, Melanie. You were such a pure and gentle soul and I hate that future generations didn't pay much attention you. You were so fucking awesome and I'm thankful that Generation X passed you onto me. I love you Melanie! -Casey Strange

I remember listening to Melanie on the radio as a kid, I have her 1970 hit single "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain )" on a compilation album. She was, (& still is), a wonderful & lovely singer. She looked like Linda Ronstadt.

Ed seemed very enthused and smitten with Melanie, gave a very pumped up introduction acknowledging her as a songwriter and not just another teenger act...a very poweful voice and "groovy" style. And you had a wonderful smile.
