In Australia when I was growing up, Halloween was always just that weird thing that Americans do. The Disney specials on tv were fun though.

Love how I already know all of this because a year ago I did a whole essay on this with a partner š We were just told to write an essay about Halloween and everyone wrote about costumes n crap but me and my partner were super into history and wrote about Samhain. Fun fact: the original āpumpkinsā were actually turnips because we didnāt have pumpkins in Ireland. These look wayyyyyy scarier. Theyāre a bit harder to carve but look amazing. If anyoneās looking for something to do in quarantine Iād give it a go And also a couple of really old people have actually asked me to sing/dance or recite poetry before I get my ātreatā. As this was still done in Ireland until maybe 40 years ago.
