Hi Adrienne, long-time watcher, first-time poster here!
I stopped drinking just before I turned 21 (now 30) and honestly, it's changed my life for the better. For me, I was able to see everything in life much more clearly (toxic relationships/friendships, my career etc) and I'm a much better person. I really didn't like the person I became when I was drinking so just went cold turkey on New Year's Day.
Like you, it made me anxious constantly and whilst I do have feelings like that sometimes, it's substantially less than before. If your friends don't understand or aren't supportive, they're not worthy of your time and energy. I've also saved a tonne of money! You can definitely have fun without the alcohol too!

When the pandemic started, I really stopped drinking as much alcohol. I wasn't going out with friends anymore and I much preferred drinking tea to unwind from a long day than immediately running for the wine. The longer I stayed inside, the less I felt the need to drink. Now that the pandemic is mostly over, I'm still rarely going out with friends to bars and I don't really buy anything for myself to keep in the house. I highly recommend researching some mocktail recipes so you can feel like you're having something fancy but it's still alcohol free! Sending you all the love and good vibes for your journey. You got this! And if you do end up having a drink or two, don't beat yourself up for it. 💕

I made the decision in my early twenties (now 35) not to drink alcohol because I never saw anything good come from it (parents and family members with alcoholism and addictions). It's not something I've never missed or given much thought to, but I also don't have a friend group that drinks much, so there's never been any kind of peer pressure or temptation. I'm proud of you for making this decision for your own well-being, even if it's just temporary. I hope you'll see lots of benefits from it that will outweigh any temptations you feel. 💗And definitely find a bunch of fun alcohol-free drinks you enjoy!

I love these types of videos and seeing others' beauty routines 😍 I think you did the right thing, having some drinks should be something fun and enjoyable, if it brings you anxiety and makes you so sick afterward there's no point! I was also about to suggest the same thing, you should find an alternative non-alcoholic drink that you enjoy so you can still have something and not feel so deprived! At home, you can also make your own mocktails 😉💕

It's a great decision! I haven't drank in 8 years, best thing I ever did. It's definitely not worth it. The only hard part is people pressuring you to drink again or the social aspect of it. I realized tho if people only want to hang out with me to drink. They are probably not the people I want to be around.

My husband and I quit drinking 6 months ago (me due to pregnancy, him because he’s been on a health kick). We weren’t big drinkers to begin with so I didn’t expect we would feel so much better without alcohol, but we both do! My twice monthly migraines with aura have completely stopped and his sleeping and energy levels have improved a ton. Where we live there are a lot of good nonalcoholic beers and wines available, so I don’t think we’ll ever go back to drinking 🤷♀️

I very rarely drink because I hate the feeling of being drunk. It’s definitely not good for my anxiety to feel the world spinning, especially when I’m out somewhere and have to figure out how to get home. I actually can’t remember the last time I’ve been drunk, it’s been that long, and I am very happy about that. I had my party years in my early twenties but I turn 37 this year and it is sooooo not worth it anymore. 😅 Also I read through all the comments on this video and I’m glad people are being supportive and sharing their own stories. Strength in numbers!

Girl, GOOD 👏 FOR 👏 YOU 👏 there’s nothing wrong with choosing to not drink! I very seldom drink unless it’s a special occasion, like a get together, birthday, night out. But seriously so rare that I drink! I just don’t like how my body feels the next day! I get bloated, retain water, feel bleh all around. I feel the same way eating carbs! So I just don’t do it, because I love feeling healthy and strong. Do what’s best for you and your health ❤️ you’re not missing out on anything by choosing not to 🥰

I feel you Adrienne! I think I have a very good relationship with alcohol, but it's like someone flipped a switch around 27/28 and suddenly my body just doesn't handle it the way it used to. I don't really drink enough for hangovers, but it definitely affects by workouts and sleep quality, to the point that it's really not worth it to drink anymore unless it's a special occasion. Good on you for listening to your body!!

I’m totally cheering you on with your decision to stop drinking! 💪🏽 I stopped drinking 5 years ago and it was for several reasons. I typically only drank socially but I realize that I would always hate the feeling of being hungover and it was just a waste of money. Another reason for me personally was because I felt like whenever I drank alcohol, I found myself kinda forgetting about God and making stupid decisions whenever I drank and I realized it was affecting my relationship with God in my faith. So those reasons led me to give up drinking and honestly it was the best decision. I’ve saved a bunch of money and I just feel so relieved when I’m out because I don’t have to worry about being drunk and careless as I used to be. I also used to have a lot of anxiety when I drank because I was always paranoid about me or any of my friends driving after drinking and getting in an accident (within the regular alcohol percentage allowed in America of course). So all of that went away when I stopped drinking and I just feel so much more in control of myself and free of anxiety, paranoia, better relationship with Jesus, and more money in my pocket! 😅🎉 so I think it’s a great idea! Fighting 💪🏽🎉🤗

Hey Adrienne, I've never actually been drunk in my life and people laugh at me because of it. I've had a sip but it just doesn't taste good to me. The recent changes I've made is; quitting sugar and I drink one gallon of water a day (or more if I can). I also do yoga & then journal first thing in the morning because it makes me feel better . I'm also trying to eat new veggies in every meal. I really enjoyed your video 😊 Take care and see you next time ❤

Thanks for sharing this experience with us!
I live in a vwell-known wine region in Spain, and oh gosh, hangovers from wine are completely different from the rest of hangovers. If you feel like that's what you feel doing, go for it. In my case, I love having a beer from time to time, but honestly, especially in summer, it gives me the worst warm temperature feeling )dont know how to call that in English). It's like I start sweating and feeling sooo warm from the inside, it's tiring :( So Im trying to cut it.
Also, it's been years (like many years) since I stopped drinking fuzzy drinks. Unless I feel I need sugar quite quickly, I never take fizzy drinks :)

I had gaps of not drinking at times. I saw the difference in my lifestyle. But whenever I did drink, it would catch up real quick. Cuz drinking doesn't end with just drinking, it's the food with it late at night, the smoking. Altogether is such a setback. I do it socially, but I'm aware I'll not feel very energetic and healthy after. I believe there are ways to be recreational without drinking. After the 30s I know it's not for me. But I love me some celebratory champagne or wine.
