Mark Normand is a podcaster, actor and a comedian.

Is Hollywood a secret cabal of child-eating sorcerers? It might be. Mark has spent enough time in its orbit to know. And if nothing else he can riff on some good theories for 2 hours with me.

Expect to learn what Mark thinks of the downfall of NYC and Bail reform, why the resurgence of Shane Gillis on SNL might not be the death rattle for woke culture, how Mark remains positive in the middle of negativity, if he's worried about being deplatformed, his thoughts on what is considered offensive in Hollywood, the one word you can never say to an American and much more...

Mark Normand has a rare gift of being able to say inflammatory things and still come off as being friendly and likeable

I love when you book comedians. Most of the time their views on social issues are incredibly interesting. Serious conversations with hilarious people are underrated.

Originally the scientists that coined toxic masculinity meant men being so competitive as to the point they would kill one another. That’s not happening as much anymore so it’s just a catch all term for inconvenient men.

There is no such thing as toxic masculinity but just toxic behaviour. Adding the term masculine to it is to make it sound unique to males. Anyone male or female can be a terrible person just like anyone can be a decent person.

This channel is brilliant - so glad I found it. Plus, this how I discovered Mark Normand for myself, who probably has the most fantastic comedic delivery I've every seen. Marathoning his comedy at work.

I'm not a big follower of Norman but I love him, this is the longest I've seen him stay on topic and discuss things. I was worried he'd be all over the place, nice job helping him stay on track.

Growing up Mormon I can tell you soaking is more of a trendy thing to talk about than a thing that actually happens. Someone HAS so have done it but it is VERY against mormon doctrines and culture. The culture in Utah can be a bit much so people on the fringes of church membership might rebel in that way though. Polygamy did happen at the beginning of the church essentially until the US government forced them to stop. If it became legalized today Mormons might continue the practice but a lot of the membership is so used to monogamy that it would be a major cultural shift.

Churchill said UK and US were two countries separated by the same language. That's compounded by multiple cultural populations in both.
