War on Drugs was played live by The Sisters of Mercy 1997-2006.
This one is the first time ever that I have used the function to change tempo during a song. The tempo is 110 BPM from start to the middle of the second chorus and then the tempo starts to increase for the rest of the song hitting a maximum BPM of 160.
When Sisters plays the song the WAA-HOOOs during the choruses are quite above my league so I recorded my WAA-HOOOs as good as I could and pitched two of them 2 octaves up.
I have listened to many versions of War on drugs while recording it but this is my personal favourite, from Roskilde in 1998: • Video
