As a kid, I used a 3rd party controller primarily for my N64 just because it was shiny and gold. What I didn't realize though was how much heavier and less responsive it was compared to the official ones, so when I finally switched back (as the gold paint wore off to show an ugly cream underside), it wound up feeling like I had completed weight training like in Dragonball or Naruto.

I personally play fighting games with an upside down Galaga arcade cabinet that I've taped a series of broken Nintendo 64 controllers to the outside of. My Mr. Game and Watch is unbeatable.

I remember when I was a kid and I wanted to play with my brother... I ended up having to use this giant blocky batman logo shaped PS1 controller we bought at a Poundland...
Ergonomics aside, it was actually the best controller we have ever had. The buttons were always crisp and the sticks were solid never having any drift or snapback no matter how many years I used the thing. Like, once you got over the initial "How the heck to I hold this thing?" it was a really good controller and given I grew up with the N64 figuring out how to hold a monstrosity of a controller came naturally to me.

This literally happened the other day. My brother wanted to play a COD zombies thing, so we got out the old Xbox. There were three controllers to pick from: the fully functioning one, the one that did random button inputs even when I wasnât holding it, and the sticky one.

This takes me back to the time i used to play mortal Kombat with my friends on the PS2, the controller he gave me was held together by tape, spit and dreams. It broke on my hand in the middle of the fight.
