I lost my 16 year old son a few days before Christmas 2009. We had seen the Foos 5 times together over the previous 4 years and he absolutely loved them as much as I do. Since then, I've not been able to listen to barely anything by them, as it's just too painful, but heard this on the radio on Friday. So poignant and another classic by the boys x

I love this song...sometimes shit is falling apart around you, sometimes life has brought you as low as you can go. To me this song is about all the emotions that go along with that, the anger towards people who know nothing about what you're feeling, but being in the process of embracing it and discovering for yourself that it is alright. To everyone who is going through a rough time, yes it's alright...I said it's alright.

They really outdid themselves here. I think all of their songs are great, but for me, this is their best, and it is easily one of the better rock songs of the last few years. They are the best band around today.

Well, many great singers weren't able to pierce in the music world because they were missing this ''passion'' and just couldn't make people ''feel'' emotions. Dave just has this energy when he sings that can make you ''feel'' anger or even sadness. That's what makes him a good musician. He may not be the best of of them all, but he writes beautiful music. What makes it complex are not the simple power chords, but meaningful lyrics and the harmony between the 5 instruments.
