Plz people read this comment and like it so that It can come above I had a really big difficulty with this lesson in particular read this and the query regarding singular and plural will be cleared 1. "Was kostet" is singular and literally translates as "What does ___ cost?" "Wie viel kostet" is also singular, and translates as "How much does ___ cost?" You would use either of these to ask how much a slice of cake, cup of coffee, bus ticket, sweater etc costs. Very simple examples: "Was kostet ein Haus?": "What does a house cost?" "Wie viel kostet ein Haus?": "How much does a house cost?" 2. "Was kosten" is plural, and translates as "What do ___ cost?" "Wie viel kosten" is also plural, and translates as "How much do ___ cost?" You would use either of these to ask how much a group of items (or multiple items) costs. Cars, hair extensions, braces, houses, etc. Again, simplified examples: "Was kosten die Schuhe?": "What do the shoes cost?" "Wie viel kosten die Schuhe?": "How much do the shoes cost?" I hope that helped!

Dear Anja, you forgot to mention one thing here. When I was listening to you I heard many time you told "diese". But it's first time we hear you saying it here. I guess it's an important aspect for us to know. For those who don't know what Anja means by "diese", she means this/these in English. Check further on the internet. Good luck to me and others in learning German.
