unabridged title: I’ve got the lyrics for a song but I can’t play and sing them at the same time so I just experimented with a passage for an hour and this is the most respectable take I achieved before my storage and/or the daylight ran out

This is the song that I’m using to tick off my January Creative resolution. I’d set out to work on poetry this month, to pull out the old golden shovelesque activities out of the box of tools and tricks and get something down on a page. I’ve spent one evening this month trying that.
I’ve spent almost this entire week trying to get these notes down on the fretboard. And I’ve gotten 1.5 verses closer to the ten minute version I’m working towards.
The lyrics to this untitled-at-the-time-of-writing-this-description song came quickly, and these attempts are an exercise in trying to find the guitar parts that fit in between the verses and the small mirages that I call the chorus.
So, inevitably, this take (and these attempts) is (are?) one of many, and once again device storage has thwarted me and the whole thing cuts off too soon. There are later attempts, but this version is the victor. Then again, this is purely a practice, and every practice shows me a place I can take the story, and the places in the story that I keep coming back to. For now, I’m learning the way.

There’s some kind of wind warning in my part of England. My mum warned me yesterday, but it still surprises me now how the wind is catching in the chimney. That’s what catches my attention when I’m looking out the window. All the trees moved by their own current.

The lyrics of this song are about coming back to a person, and also staying as far away from them as possible. It’s the second song for this set of characters I have that are too scared to actually talk about their feelings for each other with each other. I’m just practicing and trying to finish the thing at the same time.
