I'm not a speedrunner at all, but I've fired up my NES after watching these speedrun videos and practiced for a few hours; copying what the speedrunners did.
I couldn't get the jump right at the beginning of level 8-2, and I couldn't pull off the wall jumps, so I ended up with a time of about 5:20.
I was surprised how easy you can go fast in this game, but how hard it is to get below that initial increase.
