For Punk to come back after so long out, I thought his early stuff was actually pretty good, and he got better as he went. Just skimmed through and fair scoring on the whole in my eyes, if a bit negative in areas. For me you can see in the first 10-15 he was putting over other talent by making the match competitive, and that meant some pacing issues/things went a bit long, but it was a rusty veteran versus pretty green rookies, so I rein in my expectations personally as a result.

I thought Punk had some great matches in his first run . Hell , I liked his second run ! I was looking forward to more of it . Collision was banging the first several episodes . Especially some of those main events . Matches of the year in my book . But sh!t happens and im super tired of talking about the behind the scene drama at this point . No use .

11:05 Sting's face randomly appearing in the bottom right-hand corner made me think he particularly approved of that move. In fact, he thought it was 'TOASTY!!!!!'

Agree with most of this video but the Kingston match was unbelievable when it happened. It's also important to note just how hot Kingston was at the time. It was a 2 week build to a one off match at a ppv in a sprint (by punk standards at least). It just felt so fresh not just for punk but in wrestling as a whole at the time. And this run really shows how difficult Ring of the Hawk actually is. It's easy to watch the videos on runs you didn't see but the context really is everything. Nice to see a run I was actually watching so I can see how the matches are graded in comparison to watching the shows.

That match with Wardlow was Super Cena-levels of booking.
