Jack Shepherd's voice is what I listen to while doing my maths homework. He has a beautiful way of narrating.

Catherine did it with a candlestick in the moor!😂. No but really Catherine needed something to write about. What better than a couple of cryptic murders!!

Very sad story - I like old Dartmoor tales, but this is a new one to me. The lovers story is possible - yes; but did the police inquiries include asking round the area to see if two young men had rented and then left a property? The similarities are indeed strange, but may be no more than coincidence. Sadly, we shall never know the truth. Thank you

Thanks once again for a very interesting video. So sad when a body is found and the person can't be identified. One can only speculate as to what happened, hopefully they will one day unravel the mystery. Thanks for sharing 👍👍

George was a ship's steward and would have been the right age to have served in WW1, could they have served together, possibly in the navy? Could the missing hand on the watch be a way of homosexuals identifying each other? Not everyone had a watch back then, so it would be common to ask someone else for the time, might they show the watch so that a prospective match could tell they were homosexual? It does seem too much of a coincidence that they would both go missing from the same town at the same time and end up way down south. But the possibility of joining a secret society and then finding out it was a foreign one and objecting does seem possible. Also, spies have been known to hide things in a compartment in the heel of a shoe, so someone killing them would have to remove that shoe. Spies didn't have to be Eaton types if you were recruiting from abroad, you'd recruit people in jobs or areas that you needed information from.

Is this documentary from the nineties? It's got that vibe and I love the mystical vintage atmosphere around it ...

That wreath of poppies, that meant something much deeper, it rang alarm bells immediately. Or maybe I'm the only one who feels that?

This is an odd one. It intrigues me especially because I am from Bolton, and most of my family are from Sussex (as attested by my surname). Excellent account.👍
