I remember watching that 2019 E3 discover hope teaser with my friend, and he thought Infinite was going to be cell shaded, going off the way the engine looked. Seeing it in a borderlands style is kinda giving us a glimpse at what that actually might have been, and it looks surprisingly delicious!
I am frothing at the mouth for your cinematic E3 demo reshade. My god I hope 343 can just update the game on Xbox to make it look like that, because that looks like the Halo game you'd really expect from current gen consoles.

12:38 with a little less depth of field is absolutely how I think the game SHOULD have looked

I really hope infinite gets graphical updates as time goes on. Obviously after the main stuff is hopefully sorted out though.
Personally, I'd really appreciate the option to disable TAA so we can just use reshade or supersampling instead, and higher res shadows would be nice (screenspace doesn't count).
For now, I just use dldsr on pc to supersample the game at twice my monitors resolution. Even if internally its the same resolution, the way it upscales and downscale again makes an incredible improvement to image quality without using a muddy sharpening filter

I really hope you'll revisit the Noir three-tone idea with World at War now that you're more adept with the global color values. That was the one game of the era that used its low saturation creatively to contrast the drab environments with the reds and oranges of the blood and explosions, so you could really lean into that and make it truly atmospheric. Combine it with the Berserker death card to coat the screen in a deep red filter whenever you get a triple kill
