AC Valhalla was the biggest game in the ac franchise's history. It had the longest lifespan and generated the largest gap between entries of games. And yet, this is the game that is the least talked about Assassin's creed game. let's try and find out why.

I'll remember it as the only AC I could not finish. If only it was about the core story and like 60h shorter...

My biggest problem with the story of valhalla is exactly what you mentioned. At some point they just set aside the core story of eivor, sigurd, basim and the fight between the hidden ones and the ancients. Going to vinland to find Gorm, pursuing and fighting fulke after she kidnapps sigurd, hunting order members in the main story, king alfred and the templars, all of that was so damn good and intriguing. But at some point they completely forget about it, hidden ones and ancients never pop up in the main story and it is just relegated to order hunting. If more magesters were involved in the story it would have been so great, having that viking assassin vibe you very well mentioned. Not having that feels so sad and wasted, at least to me.

The only reason I enjoyed ac Valhalla was because of Magnus Brunā€™s performance of Eivor. Sad heā€™s not the canon version šŸ˜¢

I love listening to Valhallaā€™s soundtrack. It reminds me of when I wasnā€™t blackpilled about AC, lol. The first few weeks after Valhallaā€™s launch were a cool time to be an AC fan. I feel the same, though. I hear the music, it makes me feel like ā€œhuh, maybe itā€™d be worth playing Valhalla againā€, and then I remember how the parkour and the stealth work and think better of it, haha

I just love to slow walk in this game, it has one of the best open world design, EMPTY, BIG, AND SILENT

927 hours an now I am still not finished... That being said Iā€™m simply taking a break with beginning AC Origins. As I have yet to even walk through that door an step into the World Of AC Mirage. Yet I Will Always Have An Unbridled Passion For Every Aspect Of All That Is Valhalla!! I shall return and begin The Dawn Of Ragnarok. Iā€™m simply touching base with the Forebears... Love Your Videos Spaniard and How You Put Things Into Perspective. .M

Honestly I play Valhalla with dual swords and Edward's robes. Closest thing to Black Flag 2, at the moment šŸ˜‚. Love your channel btw, hope more Assassin's get to watch/hear you!

Iā€™m a fan of the original games mainly, but Valhalla is my favorite of the rpgs for what it does for the modern day narrative.

I appreciate your thorough analysis of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It's refreshing to see someone acknowledge both the strengths and weaknesses of the game. I agree that while it has its merits, there are definitely areas where it falls short.

As someone who did all the achievements for that game plus the DLC and the challenges. I would describe it as a good TV show that suffered from a lot of filler. Very good at it's core but it would reach its fullest potential if it had less to consume

I finally got sigurd back. I was once again invested in the story. after the chapter he just wanders around in raventhorpe. You can't speak with him at all. He's just there. I then decided to pledge to jorvik hoping I would get another meaty arc. As soon as I had to locate some "old friends"I just felt so deflated. I exited the game and haven't touched it since. First AC I couldn't finish

Just finished main story after 105 hours and I must say itā€™s way better than when I started it at release and gave up after 50h. If you just let go an play it without rush and know that is just a Viking game you will have fun. My first play through was 3, second was 8. Enjoyed it very much.

Loved it at the beginning and hated it at the end. That about sums it up

I also quite enjoy how the game tries to connect to each AC in one way or another. Lore in Layla's cabin "emails and the post about Kassandra", Haytham being named after Hytham, Vinland being a prequel to AC3, Ezio's one-line appearance in the Jotunheim section... for all my problems with the game, it did seem to make an effort to fit itself in neatly with everything.

I'm playing Valhalla right now (Oxenfordscire act, so pretty early) as a completionist, having previously 100%'ed all of the AC games over the past 2 years. Honestly, Valhalla is much better paced than Odyssey for my playstyle. I find the division into separate story arcs a plus - it allows me to play the game for 5-8 hours at a time over a weekend, without feeling lost in the overall plot.

Im playing it for first time, and I absolutely love it. Been into these games since 2007, dont get how old timer fans do not like this one. Male Eivor so far is in my top 3 of AC protagonists
