High functioning depression are the people who get missed and leads to tragedy. Theyā€™re the ones people say, ā€œI never new they were strugglingā€ after they are gone.

I suffered severe depression several years ago. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

"They still get things done but they're dying inside." My goodness, that really got me. That is literally my life. Every day.

Depression is like struggling to live in a body with a mind that wants to die

Iā€™m severely depressed. Full stop. I go weeks without showering. I havenā€™t combed or washed my hair in 10 months. I have had a messed up sleep schedule/insomnia for over a year. I canā€™t concentrate on anything - lately even watching YouTube videos is hard for me. If you were to ask me what Iā€™m passionate about or what I want to do with my life, I honestly could not tell you. I often donā€™t want to talk to anyone and lack energy. However much time I spend relaxing, itā€™s never enough and Iā€™m always exhausted. And I fight passive suicidal ideation every day.

I think it's hard to hide severe depression but not just because you may live alone. When you live with someone, for example your family, even if they see that you don't take care of yourself and look like you're sick, it doesn't matter. They only think that you're just lazy and/or doing it for the attention. There are many households like this, especially in Asia.

Mushrooms did wonders in my life. I was diagnosed with cptsd since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting cptsd. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with similar health challenges.

I donā€™t want to die but I also no longer have the motivation to live.

Thereā€™s such a social stigma to depression, very few people even want to admit they have it. Everyone is trying to pretend they have it all together.

The severe depression that comes along with true PTSD (hypervigilance, avoidance, ruminating, paralyzed in bed, not going out of the house, disrupted sleep, hopelessness) is so awful, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

I hate admitting or even thinking about being depressed. I just want to live a great life and I'm trying

I was severely depressed when I was a teen and my family had no idea because they didnā€™t know or understand the symptoms of depression. My mom constantly called me lazy and yelled at me and it was rough having to deal with it on my own at that age.

I realized the people who are depressed are usually the medicine in this world. They make us laugh, smile, and not feel alone only to find out they cannot do that for themselves

My family never took my depression seriously, even after I was diagnosed by a psychologist. For them, only a suicide attempt would be a sign that it's "real". To this day they still say I'm just being lazy and self-indulgent. I've always had to look for outside help to deal with chronic low-grade depression. It has been a struggle but I keep moving forward.

I have high functioning depression and work, but feel absolutely worthless and dead inside maybe 70% of the time. I act like I enjoy conversation but it's god awful
