Thank you! Almost couldn't believe that someone (you) did a side-by-side comparison of these! Ah, the better part of YouTube.
I was leaning toward the buffalo, but now I'm going for the cowhide. The leather lining and the look, and the flexibility of the cover leather, won me over. Thanks again!

When I study, I use the ESV Study Bible in Buffalo Leather that you reviewed, The ESV Lutheran Study Bible (the Missouri Synod one published by Concordia), and the KJV Reformation Heritage Study Bible in book stands with my NKJV Reference Bible flat on the table in the center. Some people would just by Bible Study software. I'm too much a physical book person to be that efficient. 😁
When I'm in the park or at the coffee shop, I use an ESV Diadem with Apocrypha in Calf-split Leather. That one is my favorite bible. However, I certainly agree that the ESV Study Bible is the best study bible out there, though I put Concordia's Lutheran Study Bible as a close 2nd, and for my tastes, the KJV Reformation Study Bible 3rd because of Reformed Creeds and Joel Beeke's Family Worship notes, which gives my bible study a devotional touch.
Now that I'm old and disabled, Bible Study keeps me out of trouble and my mind engaged in matters of faith.
You do have a knack making short and concise, yet very informational Bible reviews. I certainly enjoy them.

Hi Tim, You mentioned that the text block is the same between the cowhide and buffalo (and I’m sure the other editions as well). However, does that also include the paper quality? I have a TruTone personal size, and if I’m thinking about getting it rebound vs getting a cowhide version, my decision may be swayed if the cowhide has better quality paper.

I got the ESV study bible in the mail today. It is the ESV Study Bible by Crossway. It is supposed to be genuine leather. But it does not have 'genuine leather' stamped on it. I thought it would have the ridges on the cover of the binding. But it doesn't. It came without a box. It had a cardboard cover over it. The information about the bible does not indicate the size of the font. It sort of looks like a cheapened version. It is still nice though. I hope it's not a counterfeit reproduction.

The ESV Study Bible is without question my favorite study bible. To have all that it contains in a single volume is a resource that is unparalleled. You can actually get it in a large print (11pt font and double column, but not full color, limited cover options) and a personal size (full color but a 7.5 font limited cover options). I have always wanted one of these with a nicer liner and edgelined, but the Heirloom edition is out of print and very pricey on the second hand market. When I found out the cowhide was edgelined with a cowhide liner, and back in stock, I had to see it! I was not disappointed. This thing is beautiful, and well built! In this video I also compare it to the Buffalo cover. Also linked below is a fuller review of the Buffalo, and a complete review of the features of the study bible itself, so check those out!
