As a singer of many many many years.. I'm showing my age.. after playing in a number of bands and still do, I have one piece of advice for anyone getting into writing lyrics. My advice is keep it simple, do not fall into the trap of over writing. Yes that is an actual thing, over writing lose the charm and simplicity of a good song. The average listener will only remember a chorus to a song. So let your feeling out, enjoy writing, enjoy singing just have fun with it. Don't over think it. Let it flow out of you.
