Recently got my copy of Sigismund: The Eternal Crusader and I think it's right up your alley. No new lore revelations; but it's got original ideas and scenes - including some XII Legion - to enjoy. It fits in with Warhawk (which you'd REALLY like in terms of lore) and other stories, showing not just Sigismund being good, but points about faith, the tolerance to pain ala Praetorian of Dorn and I feel the story holds up when you can say reading about his oaths and a a few non spoiler duels are genuinely more interesting than the also good Sevatar one you get in the story.
Not too long, Sigismund wrecking people in duels, but it shows the quintessential loyalist and why they fight: there's people who want to wear your skin and instead of dying you should kill them right back. The Luther book was actually really good in this character series, hoping for a Kharn book which I think we'll get because pre-Angron and other stories love Kharn and it's easy money

Butcher's Nails is a rad audio book for getting a good read of Kharn. Firm, but soft spoken. An excellent supporting performance for the Lorgar/Angron family bonding audio drama.

Kharn gets almost killed, his comrades find him lying there, rescue him, and it turns out he's actually fine, after having a bowl of grox soup or whatever they eat. Funny how the exact same thing happened to him on Isstvan. Oh well.

I pray one day we get the sequel from Anthony Reynolds, he’s honestly the only one that gets Kharn right in modern 40k.
