One thing that sets Mayer apart from so many other artists, imo, is his ability to reach into my soul and bring me right into his song. He writes and plays from his heart. He is the real deal. Please help to rewrite history. On July 22, 2010 you performed at the Today Show Toyota Summer concert series in New York. My best friend, Michelle, and I visited NY for our 16th birthdays with our moms and won tickets to see you perform. We have all been long time fans of yours, going to every concert we could near Chicago. At this particular concert, you saw me holding a sweet 16 sign. You came over to me, gave me a hug, and kissed my cheek. Michelle was holding the โWe love John Mayerโ sign next to me, but was not acknowledged. Her heart broke and this memory has forever been a sad one for her. We still talk about it to this day every time we go to one of your concerts or hear one of your songs on the radio.
This week you are performing in Chicago on 10/18/2023 and Michelle will be at your concert, now almost 30 years old. Her favorite song is Edge of Desire. She has been your fan for over 15 years and it would mean everything to her to be acknowledged or made to feel special by you.
