I'm still traumatized by pasta water girl. I was gaging seeing her episode clips. When I first watched that episode I literally vomited a lil bit. Had to turn off the tv and go outside. When my mom tried to explain to my older brother why I was outside staring at the clouds questioning life she started to gag and then came outside to sit with me. Yer we stopped watching that show after that. I was always screamish over gross things but she usually watch those sort of things stone faced. That episode got her and that's off the walls amazing to me.

Do y'all remember that aisian woman on extreme cheapskates? The one who would dumpster dive for food and feed ot to her friends? Well she's actually a really wonderful lady who leads a normal life. TLC literally tricked her into believing that the show was a comedy show, not a reality show. Practically every over the top thing she did was what the producers told her to do under the guise of "comedy". That poor woman's life turned into hell after the show aired, and she couldn't even fight back because of the nda, but a couple years back she decided to violate the nda and expose the truth about TLC's inhumane practices.

Bruh I remember watching My Strange Addiction as a kid with my mom. There was an episode of MSA where a lady was addicted to drinking animal blood. Sometimes her boyfriend would make himself bleed for her to drink. I was terrified cause I thought she was a real vampire 💀

Tlc never really sat right with me. Exploiting middle class people with disabilities, addictions, etc for tv ratings is just so wild. That being said, I’d shrug that all off to watch Rose yell at Michael in 90df and then watch someone find a flattened raccoon under their mountain of clothes. I remember TLC was a quality learning channel for like 5 yrs when i was a kid which is why my mom started to watch it. But as the years went on the content got so focused on "reality" content and it just fell so far off to never recover
