I've replayed it more times than I can count. It's simple but beautiful. There's one other game I've done this with, LA Noire. I think there's something magic about the worlds in some games that make them endlessly revisitable. They feel like stepping into history. Nostalgia yes, but also magical immersion.

Woah a day ago i usually find these years later Ezio Auditore is my favorite heroes journey character of all time. Ive loved many others but Ezio just hits home. I remember when my now estranged father bought the game for me and playing the game for something close to 24 hours straight. I remember being so obsessed with AC that me and my friends pretended to make our own assassin order later finding others to make a templar order is was a fun time as a kid.
Still to this day the AC2 music gives me goosebumps and I get emotional these games were more than games for me they were my teenage years.
I in fact owe these games my love of secret orders, grimiores, ancient religion, etc to these games ive become a minor scholar and its because of these games.

I absolutely loved this game. The story was really entertaining and Ezio was a really strong and interesting character. I loved seeing him progress from a carefree teenager to a wise and noble man. Ezio initially looked for revenge but decided to leave that behind and he spared Rodrigo Borgia. I didnât grow up playing this game but I still love it. The music is amazing and I think the game was very special.

I have a weird relationship with the game and with the whole Ezio trilogy. I never played the Ezio trilogy back then so there was no nostlagia for me, when I played it for the first time almost 2 years ago and thus I honestly have to say, that I was either bored or annoyed most of the time while playing. Annoyed by the clunky controls and outdated mechanics and bored by the endless tailing missions. HOWEVER I still kinda liked it and now that almost 2 years have passed, I developed some kind of nostalgia for it, which is really weird, considering that I wasn't the biggest fan of these games to begin with. But hearing the music, seeing the open world and the characters, it brings back some feelings, that I didn't know I had about these games and I catch myself more often thinking about these games and wanting to go back to them sometime in the future. So the Ezio games definetely have something about them, that sticks with people and I think that's the reason they get so much love and so many people have so much nostlagia about them.
Great video as always btw. đ

Great video, really enjoyed it!
I'm an AC veteran, or purist. I've been playing the games since 2008 and consider the Ezio Trilogy to be three of my all time favourite games ever, with Ezio being my absolute favourite fictional protagonist of any medium; games, books or movies.
Obviously for me, nostalgia is a huge point why I love the Ezio Trilogy so much, however, I've recently started playing AC II again (for the xth time, but after a longer hiatus) and the game is still gold, especially since the story telling is so very strong. My only complaint is the wonky controls, so parcours can kinda be annoying at times (I remember the situation when I was chasing Francesco de'Pazzi through Florence and "caught" him the moment he started climbing up a wall, so I kinda bumped into him and fell down to the floor and hence lost him for a moment and had to catch up to him again on the roofs).
But even with some wonky controls, the game is amazing. And AC's story telling never got as good again as it was in the Ezio Trilogy.

Great video, thanks for the hard work!
Just a small nitpick, I believe the usage of the word "infamous" in this video is misplaced. Infamous means famous in a negative way. Negative is the key, it means that the thing would have been better off without it. In this video, it is often used as if to mean "famous," "titular," "iconic," and other such positive adjectives.
For example in the beginning you present AC2 as the most "infamous" game in the series, but that would imply it's the most hated, deciding, or plain bad one. The most infamous game in the series could be something like ACU (no hate, just to give an example).
Later the same with "infamous robe," where you clearly describe it in a positive way, but the adjective counters that perception.
I really liked the video which spurred me to comment about this, only kind intentions.
Cheers!

I vote "brilliant". I got the game early in my gaming career, drawn to it by the setting in renaissance Florence. I saw a Gamestop TV ad for it. I still remember my original thoughts in some parts of this game. It is a creation that is bigger than the sum of it's parts. The story, the character of Ezio, the music and the sadness - it all came together to make it compelling from start to finish. And that finish - with it's hints about our distant past (and coming possible future) were just so compelling at the time. Glad to hear there is someone else who loves it like I do.
