Matt i think your unfairly hating on philosophy as a whole. You could really argue that the entire point of philosophy is to try and see through the reality trick. You yourself are a philosopher whether you reject that title or not you are. I dont know enough about neitzche to say one way or another if he got to something that could be described as "truth" but to discount the entire proffesion is a bit unfair if only because again you yourself are a philsopher.

What Nietzsche was trying to say was.. if you ever wanted to feel the "same" emotional experience, you would literally have to relive your entire life up until that point, to have that "same exact" feeling. Because our emotions are an outward manifestation of our unconscious we would have to have the same experiences up until that point, so we would have the same unconscious makeup.

Freddy’s one liners are priceless. In Nightmare on Elm Street 5, a rebel teen gets drowsy on his botorbike as he barrels down the highway. The next moment the boy is fused with the bike with hoses and cables running through and across his flesh. Freddy has taken over! As Freddy makes the boy swerve into incoming Mack truck, the Dream demon exclaims: ‘Life in the fast lane…’

2 hrs. before this was dropped, I was Bombarded with Nietzche thumbnails from philosophy channels that I moved away from at least 2 yrs. ago. Yes I bit, thinking ‘ maybe those philosophers really had our best interest at heart, try one more listen.’ An hour later, I realized that I’d been suckered again. Then you popped up to confirm just what I thought. Thanks Matt, thanks ‘Reality’!

While reading "The Letters of Chopin" I thought of this channel and the idea of philanthropy - on page 21 Chopin speaks of Stanislaw Staszyc's funeral as 20,000 people gathered and common men on the streets got into fistfights with each other for the right and honor to carry the coffin for a time - and pieces of the coffin's decorations were taken by people - Chopin himself claimed to have taken "a bit of the pall"; intrigued - I looked at the books footnote saying , "this refers to the estate which he (Staszyc) bought (meaning that this man purchased it himself) in order to free the 4,000 peasant inhabitants from serfdom and set them up as small holders. He gave 4,000 people land. I never heard of this before , and I typed the name into a search and Wikipedia instead uses the words , " granting them land and private rights" - one could look at that as maybe a law was passed or something - Wikipedia doesn't use the idea that he purchased this himself and gave it freely to the poor; and was regarded as a hero. Even if he - Staszyc- was "part of the system". Like real philanthropy is downplayed. I thought that was sad that if a guy really helped 4,000 people / families that way , that it should be bigger than 6 words on a Wiki-page.

"When I am among the many I live as the many do, and I do not think as i really think .... After a time it always seems as if they want to banish me from myself and rob me of my soul .... I then require the desert as to grow good again" - F. Nietzsche Nietzsche, Plato, Jung, Plotinus, M.Peck and various others have provided me with countless pieces of language, knowledge, wisdom, which my inner self resonated from instantly .... Which without any doubt aided me monumentally regarding personal spiritual growth ... Our journey is as solitary and introvert as it is collective ... Everything is relative
