Damn, that ending line, "At least you'll know that I loved you" makes this song feel even more like the purest expression of love. I don't know what it is, but Dave's choice not to sing about what the other person is like or what he loves about them makes it feel more genuine. I get the sense it is more about his own journey in loving someone and almost a conversation with the other person rather than what the other person does. I get the sense it's a focus on what loving someone /is/ and not what is /done/. Just an absolutely amazing song that I cannot express my love for enough.

No lie…..I have been listening to Gang of Youths on repeat for at least two months. While my favorite song changes constantly, the Overpass and the live from Melbourne version of Persevere are probably my top two. I really can’t get enough of them. Dave’s voice is just so phenomenal.

I love unison but I think the complexity of the composition made it hard to get used to, and anticipate its progression. This version does a great job of emphasizing where those points are and I really enjoyed it.
