All Clips Taken From Altair Stealth:    / @altairstealth

Let's talk about the cool year that we've had as Assassin's creed fans, looking back on AC Mirage and AC Nexus, seeing how we felt as a fanbase a year ago and how at least I feel now. I'm excited for 2024, and although we are returning to big endless RPGs, I think that the franchise is currently on a good trajectory.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a 2023 action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth major instalment in the Assassin's Creed series and the successor to 2020's Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

2023 was a good year not only for the AC Franchise but for Ubisoft as a Company, that they can deliver something good again

For an old style game, more focused and condensed game? Unity sequel with Napoleon using the piece of Eden to take over Europe and Arno hunting down Shay. An original game? Mesoamerica during the Spanish conquests. For an RPG game? Wild West set in 1870s, robbing Templar banks in the aftermath of the civil war.

I am also excited for the future of the franchise, mainly if Ubisoft continues making more specific games for their different audiences and trying new things with the franchise. I have no problem with trying out new things as long as we don't loose the old ones.

Valhalla is kind a have the same charm as the black flag , they both can be a stand alone good game without being part of AC franchise , if only ubisoft did that , then we will have the first open world rpg base building viking invasion game ever made

I love Valhalla. Actually, I consider it the best AC game after 2. 🙂

I didnt buy Odyssey or Valhalla but i did buy Mirage and glad i did. I dont own a VR so that wont effect me but i hope Ubisoft realizes there are still many of us that liked old Assassins Creed.

Most definitely excited about the future of Assassin's Creed. There's so much to be excited for. As for people hating Valhalla, I know quite a few people that loved it to death. I enjoyed a good bit of it. The difference though is night and day in Mirage and Valhalla. I still think Mirage should have had combat close to Valhalla. AC Red will hopefully be good, although the male protagonist still seems to be iffy. A multiplayer game, RPG set in Japan, a potential Black Flag Remake, and a game during the German witch hunts that plays differently supposedly. If the games focus on the stories and offer a great campaign, the AC community will have a good few years. Still don't think people should absolutely hate Valhalla or even Odyssey. Mirage though was an amazing breath of fresh air.

I’d love to see Bordeaux get the Splinter Cell IP. I think they could do something fresh and possibly magical with the existing tools they’ve used in Mirage.

People are hating on mirage simply due to the animations and comparing it exclusively to unity. Unity was supposed to be a fucking tech showcase. I think that is why most games from those years look this good. Even unity looks better than some parts of odyssey. But Unity is still janky for all of these animations. I think it would’ve been incredibly difficult for mirage’s small team to implement these animations and make sure the game wasn’t janky. And people would’ve made fun of it by saying it had bad performance. I would take good performance over good animations.

Mirage was good. But the combat leaved a lot to be desired. I did my best to be sneaky because if I wasn’t I’d have a bad time fighting off the enemies. Doable but not fun
