For an old style game, more focused and condensed game? Unity sequel with Napoleon using the piece of Eden to take over Europe and Arno hunting down Shay. An original game? Mesoamerica during the Spanish conquests.
For an RPG game? Wild West set in 1870s, robbing Templar banks in the aftermath of the civil war.

Most definitely excited about the future of Assassin's Creed. There's so much to be excited for. As for people hating Valhalla, I know quite a few people that loved it to death. I enjoyed a good bit of it. The difference though is night and day in Mirage and Valhalla. I still think Mirage should have had combat close to Valhalla. AC Red will hopefully be good, although the male protagonist still seems to be iffy. A multiplayer game, RPG set in Japan, a potential Black Flag Remake, and a game during the German witch hunts that plays differently supposedly. If the games focus on the stories and offer a great campaign, the AC community will have a good few years. Still don't think people should absolutely hate Valhalla or even Odyssey. Mirage though was an amazing breath of fresh air.

People are hating on mirage simply due to the animations and comparing it exclusively to unity. Unity was supposed to be a fucking tech showcase. I think that is why most games from those years look this good. Even unity looks better than some parts of odyssey. But Unity is still janky for all of these animations. I think it would’ve been incredibly difficult for mirage’s small team to implement these animations and make sure the game wasn’t janky. And people would’ve made fun of it by saying it had bad performance. I would take good performance over good animations.
