I remember my mother introducing me to Gotye when I was 7 years old. His song âSomebody That I Used To Knowâ, had just released with the music video. I remember singing that song with my momâs phone on full blast. I went to sleep with the song âHeartâs A Messâ constantly, as well. Listening to his music now is bittersweet. As my mind understands his complex words, and calming/mesmerizing voice. Even the intricacy of the instruments move my soul.
This takes me back to running around my grandmotherâs house with not a care in the world. Feeling free, while the sun softly beamed through the sheer white curtains. I miss the feeling of fresh air, and simplicity of not understanding what life was to become.

i listen to death metal and very heavy music. i was with my friend and he said i wouldnt like this but it'd be worth listening to. I listened and recently went through a pretty rough breakup. I channeled through anger and listened to metal non stop. But.....when i heard this....and i couldnt help but cry. I just have to say, i have much respect for Gotye because his unique style and all the emotion he puts into his work. Keep it up man
