The Amity Affliction officie dans le metalcore et le post hardcore depuis 2003. LancĂ© par le chanteur et multi-instrumentiste Ahren Stringer, le groupe publie plusieurs EP et dĂ©mos avant de se lancer dans le grand bain des bacs avec lâalbum Severed Ties. On dĂ©couvrait alors la griffe diablement efficace de la bande, faite de grooves et dâuppercuts. Parti du Queensland (immense Ă©tat situĂ© au nord-est de lâAustralie), le groupe sâengouffre alors dans sa conquĂȘte du monde.
Aujourdâhui formĂ© de lâindĂ©boulonnable Ahren Stringer au chant et Ă la basse, de Joel Birch au chant, de Dan Brown Ă la guitarre et de Joe Longobardi aux percussions, The Amity Affliction rĂ©gale ses fans avec un tout nouvel album baptisĂ© Not Without My Ghosts. Câest cet opus parlant autant du pouvoir cathartique de la musique que de la difficultĂ© dâavancer tout en pleurant ses proches que la bande australienne vient dĂ©fendre au Hellfest. On parie que leur concert vaut un bon paquet de passages sur le divan !

Ahren actually sounds good here! I never think he's a bad singer or studio darling. He's just a heavy smoker. In every amity clips I saw he always had his ciggies. If he finally realised that it has been affecting his vocals then that's great bcz I am so sad & tired seeing people slandering his vocal ability.
Joel is killing it as always. Love seeing him all smiley & just having fun performing. Man, if only I could see them live.

It's so sick seeing Amity with this huge resurgence of heaviness! I don't know what Joel did but he sounds different to a few years ago and even more beastly!!! He also has so much more energy on stage, for example when you compare this performance to their 2015 show in Chicago that is also on YouTube, you'll see what I mean!

The Amity Affliction is my favorite band so it's awesome to see they're doing as well as they are in the music industry. Thank you to ARTE Concert for documenting this amazing performance, and I can't wait to see who plays this year!
