This album is fantastic, their earlier shit is fantastic, I'm unbiased, I've consumed their entire discography in two days, I came from Blur and Suede and the Third Wave scene to discover The Strokes, they are class, top class and furthermore can change style successfully, much like Blur and Suede they are maturing, I saw the same evolutions lose fans for those two but gain musical respect, and that's what's important, it's great music.

Something I've noticed is that with most of The Strokes music, it takes me awhile to really appreciated it. It grows on you, unlike the cheap, lifeless pop numbers the radio play over and over again.

1st listen - dissappointed
20th listen - might be one of my favourite Strokes tunes
It has some really interesting changes, a solo we have heard only Strokes play it, and great vocals together with the synth thing - from 1:48 and out, it's just pure rock n roll! You guys gotta give it time to grow!

The main reason why this album is so different is because the whole band wrote the songs together, whereas on the previous albums, Julian wrote about 95% of the songs. Regardless, I think Angles turned out really good.
