There's no other band in the world where I highly respect their musicianship, but can't stand their music as a whole.

Went to college fall of 95ā€ all you heard coming out of every window was DMB. Liked them at 1st then quickly got sick of hearing them.

Iā€™m a big metal fan but Iā€™m also a die hard Dave fan. I See 5 to 6 shows a year for the past 12 years. Every show is a different set and theyā€™re super talented. I understand why some people arenā€™t a fan. The talent is insane though theyā€™re really a tight band

There is something about the vibe ata Dave show Iā€™ve never found anywhere else in the worldā€¦ just happiness and love. When you hear a DMB song itā€™s all bright and musically beautiful but when you listen to DMB; not just the lyrics and how deep and multilayered they are but how complex and genre busting the music is. These are some of the most insanely talented people in music. From 1996 when I first heard Daveā€¦ to now, 12/26/23 Iā€™ve seen em earlier this year, and go whenever I am able and listen everyday. This is the band that I grew up with from aged 15 and now ive raised my kids on the music too. RIP LeRoiā€¦ and tbh I miss Boyd too. šŸ˜®

I think a big differentiator for DMB is that their musicianship is up there with world-class Jazz musicians. To the point where they sound like a "Progressive Rock" band, but closer to the American songbook, with Cole Porter and Coltrane mixed in. The drummer, Carter Beuford is literally one of the best ever, their songs are never based on simplistic rock riffs, so the structure of their music is great and a foundational level. As for Dave's voice, it grows on you.

As a teenager, i was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder and i had this hematoma on my skull or something and i had to get an mri and it was one of those ones where you have to stay really still for like an hour. They had a few cd's and headphones they offered to help me deal with being in this claustrophobic compartment within that big machine for so long and I can't remember what the other options were but i ended up choosing the DMB album and it was the one that had that "there's blood in the water" song and i remember thinking it was scary.

Never thought I would see ya make this video but I love it. I've been a casual fan of this band for 30 years, now. I'm not one of those people that follows them around on your like people do with Phish but the band is amazingly talented. I have to be in the mood for em but when I AM in the mood...well c'mon "Tripping Billies" still slaps.

SUPPOSEDLY... My ex girlfriend's brother and a friend were at the bars in downtown Davenport, IA one weekend, and possibly saved Dave from getting into trouble after he had performed at a nearby venue. He had gotten shitfaced drunk and was stumbling and dazed near the wrong neighborhood. They brought him to safety and got an autograph (that part was definitely real)

I don't want to crap on this band. They already do enough crapping on people.

Dave was the reason i started learning the guitar, after i heard Watchtower (Red Rocks) in a friends cars. Shocked and very sad to hear about what happened to his sister.

I moved to Charlottesville and eventually got a job at the bar he worked at when he blew up. Interesting experience and he really is known around here as a genuine and good guy.

I really like DMB. Crash remains one of my favorite albums of the '90s, and they have written many other fantastic songs outside of that. Really great music to mellow out to.
