most of the issues you mentioned are either an issue with apple being apple and the fact that a feature (folding the phone) can also have downsides. There are of course tradeoffs but the fact that you're scrolling more because the screen is too little (7:50) is optional, you don't have to fold it to display content, if you want you could not fold it and set it against a stand just like the iphone.

As you stated, I think the transfer problem was because you went from an Apple to an Android. When I transferred from my Galaxy S10 to my S22 Ultra I had none of the issues you had. The transfer had only a few hiccups, usually due to older apps. But, the other issues, especially the Apple ecosystem, can never be matched with an Apple/Andriod interface. Apple to Apple will always win. For obvious reasons.

To be fair, Samsung's Smart Switch app works fairly well when switching from another Android phone (even from a non-Samsung one). I know from experience that switching from Android to iOS is a very difficult and buggy process (as I've had to help a friend do this), so it doesn't surprise me that the other way around is also problematic.

Android does have an AirDrop equivalent now and it's called Nearby Share. I am surprised you never found out about it considering it's right there in the share sheet in this video at 11:23. However, unlike Windows you will need a third party app on Mac called NearDrop to use Nearby Share because Apple does not like to work with industry standards.
It's funny that the very reason you cited for staying with the iPhone (the ecosystem) is why I will probably never move over to the iPhone or even the Mac. I really like that Android and Windows work really well with each other and even try to work with MacOS and iOS as best as they can. The only reason they don't work as well with the Apple platforms is because of Apple themselves. Case in point - Windows does allow you to take phone calls from your iPhone or Android phone on your PC using the Phone Link app. Apple only allows this for iPhones because they don't care about you if you use an Android phone. I prefer using platforms and devices that don't have that level of elitism about themselves and just focus on the consumer regardless of which other devices they have.

I switched from using Android for over a decade to iPhone 13 pro max last year. I spent 6 months with iPhone before switching to s23 Ultra. I see the appeal of iPhone but i find Android integration and configuration options to be superior.
I'd love to try a folding phone but i don't want to be stuck with it for 2 years.

I believe there's a setting to move the brightness slider, but there's an easier way to bring down the notifications. Swipe down anywhere on your screen. No need to remember which half of the status bar to swipe from. The face unlock is NOT from Samsung. It's the default Android face unlock. The Galaxy S8 line was the last Samsung to have the IR face unlock. I wish they still had it, but I also like not having a notch in my screen. Honestly, the captured audio from the closed mode sounds better to me. The flipped open audio sounds compressed, but I do like the color saturation more from the inside camera. The outside camera looks washed out. Even in the yoga photo, the inside camera photo would be the one I'd keep despite being a bit less sharp. What I'd like is a case with a nub to help with one handed opening. I know I'll get a folding phone, but I'm going to wait a few more generations. The Fold is currently more appealing than the Flip.

just switched over from an iPhone 14 Pro to a Z Flip 5. i have some of the same gripes in this video, but i am having a 98% positive experience with the switch. the battery life and camera quality difference are my #1 concerns and are what i hope Samsung can rectify going forward. if i could get S23 quality photos on this and a little more screen-on time, i'd probably never own an iPhone again. only other gripe is that videos and voice memos get way over-distorted in loud scenarios (i'm a musician so i take a lot of videos at shows).
