I've been sick and tired of explaining all these things to my iphone buddys why I can't switch to their ecosystem. I hate their UX and next time I have to explain my problems I'll just throw this video at them. Thank you for explaining all these differences.

Outside the USA, the iMessage and Facetime problem is not even a thing, because we usually go for third-party messaging apps regardless of the phone people have anywaysā€¦ Iā€™m an Android person, and while I knew about some of the points youā€™ve mentioned, like the back gesture (trying to use my friendā€™s iPhone was super annoying because of that), I was shocked to learn about a few other features that I use on the regular and that are missing on iOs. Yep, Iā€™m never making the switch

Always amazes me that nobody ever mentions that when you take a photo, your pictures don't get there own separate gallery. Instead they get put together with every other picture you have on your phone and you have to sift through them all to locate them. This is incredible obtuse.

You forgot the clipboard feature where you can copy multiple words from different sources and paste them at the same time without losing single word, heck even a picture.

I think the main thing about the settings or special options being more hidden is on the principle that Apple wants you to use the way THEY want it, while Android allows the USER full control.

I learned something today! As an android user my numbers are missing from my keyboard, but I thought this was normal/standard, yet YOU have them. So I opened my phone, used the convenient ā€˜settingsā€™ button on the screen, and simply activated the ā€˜numbersā€™ feature. NOW I have numbers above my letters like a normal person! Thanks!šŸ™

Im so used to Android that i never knew iphone app settings were not accessible from the app. I didnt know iphone didnt have a back gesture from everywhere or that the keyboard didnt have a numbers bar at the top. I knew about the volume controls on iphone being weird. Its crazy how different they still are.

What I hate about iPhone is that on the AlarmClock when you enable the Alarm, it doesn't show you how much time is left for you to sleep. Simple thing, and they failed to add this.

Spot on! I was a huge Apple user and loved it (3Gs until 6S). Then switched to Android and fell in love with it. This year, I tried to give Apple another chance. I lasted less than a month. Everything you have said were serious pain points for me. I'd add a few smaller things: voice dictation on iOS was absolutely horrendous; Siri isn't that helpful ("here's what I found on the web" Bruh, just TELL me!); and one thing that even my wife who decided to go back to Apple seriously misses and I use all the time is scheduling text messages. Apple has done a great job at marketing and I get annoyed with people who blindly say "Apple is just so much easier to use, more intuitive, etc." while never having used a flagship Android device... Well done!

I use both systems. The things that were not mentioned are: Split screen; Proper backround App refresh, goes together with multitasking(not just pausing an App); Dual Apps(Clone Apps); Clearing cache from App settings; Installing files from anywhere; Viewing your clipboard and etc...

Similar thing. After years of using Android (Samsung and Huawei mostly), I gave iPhone a chance and been using 15 Pro for a month now and it's really hard to explain, but all these things that you mentioned really were a mind changer. Not to say, iPhone 15 Pro is a great phone overall, but I just find myself taking more time dealing with multiple notifications and alerts from different apps and spend more time on the phone that I am used to. With S24 line underway, I am planning on switching back to Android soon.

I've been a long time iPhone user. The exact opposite of you. I switched to the S23+ and I absolutely love it. Once I got past the Apple ecosystem issues, I don't plan to go back.

At a family get together all the iPhone users were snapping photos and bragging. My wife pulled out her S23 Ultra and snapped a few pictures. Everyone was telling her that her photos looked so much better. Then we took a group photo. I put my S23 Ultra on a stand and grabbed the S-Pen. I started snapping pictures while standing with the group. I was suddenly surrounded by iPhone users, and they were asking... How did you do that? What kind of phone is that? I pity those who are deceived by Apple.

Me to my iPhone buddies: I never used an iPhone and I'm never going to be. And if you have any problem with the green bubble, you can kiss my USB C port šŸ˜

From my experience from switching from android to iphone I also have the same pain points with the gestures and number keyboard. Still after using an iphone for 1.5 yrs I still miss those android features . Apart from that if you have used some android phones like OnePlus then you will love the fast charging provided by them.

I switched from Galaxy Phone to iPhone about six or seven years ago. And iPhone people told me I would get used to not having any back button. That is incorrect. I miss the back button all day, every day !!!!

I tried using IOS. But it had too many limitations. And it just became so aggravating to use. And that's exactly it. Unless you own Apple, everything for your devices, your experience is basically going to suck with an iPhone. I have never liked the Apple experience. It's just way too controlling and limiting for my tastes. The Apple ecosystem just isn't my vibe.

Finally some valid points! Thereā€™s a lot of these videos out there and so many people obviously say the same things but some of yours are actually very good points that I miss as a lifelong iPhone user whoā€²s used to them. Iā€²m trying out a pixel rn and yh, thereā€™s a lot to like. It goes both ways though!
