Magic Mike? Captain America? Could it get any further from the female gaze? The whole point of the female gaze is that it doesn't objectify the person but rather shows them as a whole. It is often said that a man's desire is visual and a women's is sensual. For example Captain America's glowing body is a perfect example of a character shown through the male gaze, although sexual attraction is not on the cards considering the male gaze is catered for heterosexual males, there is the obvious element of 'alpha male' attraction that they seem to have, while Loki in his mystery and trickery, and noticibly lacking sexual scenes is much more catered towards a female gaze.

Men looking like chads can also be seen as the male gaze, because, I'd argue more often than not, men want to be alpha to be better than other men, not because women find it attractive (many don't).
If I had to put it simply, I'd say the male gaze is about conventional beauty and the female gaze about unconventional beauty (at least nowadays, this might change with women dictating beauty standards more).

So everything is a āgazeā to someone. Just wear what you want.
Thereās nothing wrong with dressing a certain way to attract the gender/person you desire. Itās completely normal.
The problem is when you do it, even though you truly donāt want to and you feel out of place and uncomfortable. You should find a sweet spot and know your style will change depending on mood, occasion, age, ideology, hell even hormones.

What youāre describing at the beginning of the video with Magic Mike, Captain America etc. is literally the male gaze. Itās patriarchy that causes hyper-masculine, alpha male-type figures to be held up as the masculine ideal, not women. The male characters in films like The Avengers have been written and brought to life by men, for the purpose of consumption by a majority male audience, based on what men believe is appealing. Thatās the male gaze.

Good examples of female gaze are "Portrait of a lady on fire" and "Jennifer's body", which usually are not (just) about sexual attraction and body appearance, but about how the female feels. To me, the main difference is that the male gaze is all about how the male sees, while the female gaze is mostly how she wants to be looked at, or better, how she wants to be seen.

So much of this video is an exact copy of Salem Tovar!!! Like at some points WORD FOR WORD! This is messed up. Somebody call the copyright cops!
I just saw where he linked her in the comments but if you are basically quoting her video word for word and taking full chunks of her direct edits of examples and other videos then you should verbally mention that. And did you get her permission or did you just take her content and throw a little link in the description for good measure? This level of reference to source material is basically a reaction video and not a video essay and you should treat it as such by giving her credit in the video.

Theres a thing that popped up in my head when you mentioned hyper masculinity when it comes to how men are viewed in the female gaze(this is a bit irrelevant but i think it might be important to point out) despite hyper masculinity(aesthetically) being heavily associated with heterosexuality ironically enough a lot of homosexual media(particularly in japan) feature many characters being designed in an extremely muscular way, this is known as bara in japan and its a very interesting topic to look into at least for me.

It's not the male/female gaze what lead to suffering, the problem is the pressure people put on you to fit in a box. We all checkout other's body when we're sexually attracted which is natural. Female gaze is about respecting and male gaze is about objectifying is bullshit because females can also have objectifying gaze, men can also have respecting gaze.

Looking feminine does not mean you aren't masculine.
Many kpop idols are super fit they are legit athletes.
with the field of being a performer they aren't scared to switch up their style. On stage you wear make up its part of what you need to do in the industry.
Plus feminine features in men in the western industry of music and film is nothing new. There are many Famous performers and actors that have androgynous features.
Elvis, lil Nas X, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Holland, Johnny Depp, Prince, Orlando Bloom. And so many more
Pretty boy with lean fit body
