My daughter came out as bisexual in 4th Grade and Pansexual in nearly 5th grade when she realized it wasn't just "traditional" males and females she was attracted to. She shaved her head. Started shopping in the "boys" section. Her hair was down to her bottom for years. While I may have shed a brief little tear over her long and beautiful hair of nearly a decade falling to the floor, I can honestly say I loved her shaved head EVEN MORE. I love her soooo much and how she feels and who she loves will NEVER change that. I support her. I wish that for any young person struggling to come out to their parents because they think they won't accept them.

Even if you think it’s all nonsense or that we’re just being too sensitive, you shouldn’t say that out loud. Your children aren’t hurting anyone by being themselves. You can’t call yourself an ally if all you do is insult people for “making it all about being gay”. You’re not the victim and you never were. All we ask is that you try to understand.
