It feels like you're the only one celebrating it which saddens me. The Mother anniversary should be a celebration. Not even RP accounts for Ninten are celebrating it. But go you for celebrating the joyous time for the game

I can't believe I've never realized this until now, but this is literally one of the best NES RPG's; obviously I've always known it was an excellent game, but when you look back, the NES didn't have the kind of competition that Earthbound had. It had the Dragon Quest series, FF, Crystalis, Faxanadu... there wasn't a whole lot. I was immediately blown away by every aspect of this game when I originally played it, and it was before this particular translation effort. I still can't believe such a great RPG is on the NES. And thank you so much for this playthrough, and thanks to the kind souls who do fan translations.

Stephen, you may be sad in the back of your head about this being the start of the end of the series for you, but remember this, while this experience will be gone someday, your experience will be eternalised here. At any point after this LP is done, you can watch these old videos again and re-experience Mother for the first time! You may be sad now, but I can guarantee that when this is over, you will be proud you've finally done this, and these moments with the game will NOT be forgotten. Many of us viewers could only /wish/ to be able to do this with our childhood games. So enjoy this while you can, but you can always come back again and re-live the magic. Happy 25th. :)

My BFF told me to watch your gameplay since i decided to play this series but sadly not play the first and the start of the video made me emotional i see how passionate you and the fans are with this game. I cant wait to play earthbound and enjoy the rest of your game play

I feel the same way about Mother as stephen. I have played EarthBound multiple times, Watched playthroughs of mother 3 multiple times, but have never experienced Mother.

Stephen your Earthbound LP is my favorite LP from anyone. I always wanted to see you LP either Mother 1 or Mother 3. Glad your doing this game!

I'll be honest, I screamed when I saw the video title! :D I'm so excited for this! And I can't wait for all the, "Loids are not Christmas" references, I've listened to that series probably a dozen times. :P
I've played through the original game (not Tomato's translation) three times, and I gotta say the Easy Ring makes me mad. Mostly because I spent hours level grinding. My jaw dropped when Stephen leveled up to level 3 in a matter of minutes. It took me like 20 minutes. :P It was a great idea for Tomato to put that equip in the game.
I hope this LP encourages people to play the game!
