I do kinda feel like this Phillion guy is victim blaming a bit. Being like "really dude? You're gonna stay with him after he did all that?" When you're in a relationship, your instinct is to trust and forgive your partner for doing something wrong. That's compounded when they're lying and manipulating you. Even when you're on the receiving end of domestic violence (which I have been), you find yourself rationalizing their behavior and saying things like "they can get better, it won't always be like this, it's not their fault." You take away the violence and it's just a dude who's emotionally manipulating you, and you have no survival instinct ticking in the back of your mind saying "you gotta get out of here, it's not safe," yeah people are gonna take their shitty partner back. I get that this Huberman fellow is not physically abusive, but it does seem like he's emotionally manipulative af.
