I find it insulting that jazz gets a single entry but rock and electronic get tons of subgenres. Jazz has tons of variety too! There's swing, there's bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, dixieland, blues jazz, modal jazz, fusion, avant-garde, free jazz, soul jazz, jazz-funk, nu jazz, third stream, acid jazz, electro swing, and so on!

Excellent compilation! As a musician may I add to your list: Acapella, choir, church choir, Christian church organ et al, Death metal, "New Orleans jazz/blues" (don't know the actual name but that city has their own sound), and African tribal drumming. Ever hear a dozen African drummers each playing a different pattern? Sounds like a beautifully syncopated stampede of sorts ... no words! Technically any form of tribal dance and celebration can also be included ... many of them don't differentiate between music and celebration. I can't wait to show me kids this! thank you!

This is such an amazing list! Also appreciate all the comments pointing out missing genres. I think this compilation is great for most of the mainstream genres already known worldwide, although as a Portuguese person I can point out that our traditional music is missing, called FADO (amongst many other types of Portuguese music), and as a result of that, I'm sure that many other traditional types of music of many other countries are missing too, which could also be an interesting research đ

There was a lot of stuff in this video, but I think a very large part you skipped over was Jazz. Jazz has been around for about 100 years now, and there's lots of different genres within the category. You have things like your early jazz, which is primarily New Orleans, then you have things like Big Band/Swing with people like Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. You have your Freeform Jazz, Bebop Jazz. Marches were another big thing, and along with Ragtime and Blues, and some other Creole type stuff, made Jazz. There's a lot to it.

I'm not a native English speaker, and for most of my life before creating this channel, I didn't care about the lyrics in the music I listened to. But song lyrics have been slowly adding to the destruction of our society for decades. The fact that a bad idea sounds musically pleasing doesn't make it a good idea. Addictions, crime, promiscuity, divorces, revenge, telling lies, cursing, swearing, hating, making idols, taking lives before birth, and many other destructive behaviors have been spread and normalized for years through most of the things we consider entertaining. Be careful of the messages you let into your life. Some people need to know that there is scientific proof that God exists. Causality and the principle of sufficient reason, to mention some, are accepted as universal, basically stating that everything has a cause and nothing appears by itself. Everything in the universe is subject to cause and effect, but whoever created the universe does not necessarily have to: if there was ever a time in the beginning where there was nothing, wouldnât there still be nothing? Then itâs wise to admit that something or someone must have always existed, causing the existence of everything else. Some people have been able to explain it better than I can, so I will just cite one of the clearest presentations of the gospel I have ever read, published by Living Waters in the Million Dollar Bill: THE MILLION-DOLLAR QUESTION: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Have you lied, stolen, used Godâs name in vain, or lusted (which Jesus said was adultery, Matthew 5:28)? If so, God sees you as a liar, thief, blasphemous, and adulterer at heart. If you die in your sins, you will end up in a terrible place called Hell. But thereâs good news. Though we broke Godâs Law, Jesus paid the fine by dying on the cross: âGod so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting lifeâ (John 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds (itâs no fairytale). He fulfilled all the prophecies of the promised Savior. Please, today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will forgive you and grant you the gift of eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9). Then, to show your gratitude, read the Bible daily and obey it, join a Christian church, and be baptized. Visit needgod.com/ and livingwaters.com/
