I think the reason I find the movie so enjoyable is because it just seems like every single person on screen is having an absolute blast. Honestly, there are few things so endearing as Pierce Brosnan's inability to sing. I was stone cold sober when I saw the first Mamma Mia, and I had the time of my life! It may not be a good movie, but by god it's fun. Though the sequel was, indeed, a lot better.
