RackaRacka's 9 year old YT journey is amazing: from making high quality YT videos to movies, true character development

The most creepy part was how easily you can buy teenagers do the hand. It's also a great allegory for drug use. I love how different it was cause you've seen so many demon possessions movies and this one felt real cause you completely understand why Sophie kept touching the hand

I really liked that everything around the "game" was very creepy and as a Mexican dude I totally said wtf who is doing this shit for fun?, but then the montage scene created an atmosphere where I would absolutely give in to the social pressure, and it would be fun

As an Aussie im so proud. So fun seeing these guys not just kill it on YouTube but in film industry. Hope they do more films in Australia too.

It’s wild going into that movie and just assuming it was made by established people in the industry because of how well it was done and then realizing days later it was these two guys. And then going from “oh that’s actually so cool” to “oh my gosh I’ve seen some of their stuff before holy crap” has just been a journey. This is a movie I know that I’ll rave about for a long while to come and I see this deservedly becoming a must watch in the horror genre. The only upset I have is that it didn’t come out when I was talking my horror genre study course in college because I know the discussions would take up an entire session.

These guys are YouTube legends, their skits like the stuff they did with the sidemen are still legendary

I remember being so intrigued why YT decided not support them and that kind of +18 videos, even today many years later their videos are still without a doubt among the best videos on YT, wondering what YT would look like if they supported video makers like Danny and Michael. Glad everything worked out amazing for them

His views on his ADHD is exactly how I've always viewed it myself especially since I am also a writer. The scattered focus aspect of it can really be used to your advantage and its something I've always been afraid to lose. Once you find something that does interest you then you get this urge to learn everything about it. The random and large spectrum of things that I've completely dumped myself head first in to learn everything about is something I've always loved. I know this can cause a lot of issues for people especially with most jobs but for those working in a creative field with ADHD it can almost feel like a superpower at times

We need a smosh and rackaracka collab. Imagine a bonkers action scene, Ian vs Anthony

The way he talks about the genesis of the hand and the power of having the right thing to help you out of something rather than to grab onto something that is not good for you is so accurate and well said.

I saw it last night and it's such an amazing film. It's incredibly scary and so well written. Was so cool to see Australian representation and amazing to see where these boys came from and to see where they are now

on the topic of them being worried about it being australian let me just say it taking place in australia genuinely enhanced the viewing experience for me. it felt so much more real which for a horror movie (especially a spirits and possession one) makes all the difference in how it affects you. the more real the more scare. I think the lower budget also helped with this. it didn’t feel like an overproduced hollywood stint where they’re trying so hard to show off their budget that it takes away from any sense of reality. talk to me instead felt very natural and of itself which I also need to give a shout out to the writing for because the dialogue between characters felt (and I know I’ve overused this word) so real and authentic. truly did not feel like I was watching a movie with actors but like I was casually peering in at people’s lives. amazing job with the movie mates I’m not even a horror fan but I loved this. looking forward to what you create next

As someone with ADHD, the wrong medication definitely makes you feel that way. The right medication makes you focus on the things you want in the right colour while also getting the menial tasks done, which would never get done otherwise.

I remember in 2013, I found rackaraxka when I was about 8 years old, around that time I was also really into smosh and me and friends loved both these YouTubers so much. To see these guys come so far a decade later is insane.
